Great Times with Auntie and Bobby!

We had a great visit with Auntie and Bobby a couple of weeks ago. Other than a trip to Rainbow Springs, we pretty much just hung out at the house, chatting with Lydia and oooing and awwwing over Bobby's utter cuteness. He did great! Pretty much slept through the night every night and hardly ever fussed. So glad he's such a great traveler...it means they'll be coming back soon! Auntie, who is getting ready to become a Mary Kay consultant, gave Sophie a birthday treat she will never forget....a little spa day. She used all kinds of lotions and scrubs to make her hands and lips soft and even put a little make up on her. Annabelle and Ollie got in on the action too....well Ollie didn't get made up, but he did get have his lips and hands "done" and all day long he kept asking me if his lips were still shiny....

Favorite Spot

This is becoming one of my favorite spots in the house...it's where the girls eat breakfast in the morning before eagerly heading off to school, where Oliver teaches me the origami that the girls have taught him (he's got some mad bunny-making skills), where all kinds of treasures are created and where we usually end up hanging out with friends. I love it.

To the Beach with Honey!!!

We had a great visit with Honey last month, but somehow I didn't get any pictures of her with the kiddos...:(. We had so much fun playing on Jupiter Beach for 3 days!! One of the highlights for the kiddos was making sand candles with Honey. I'll have to snap a picture of the final product...they turned out really cool and they were so proud of their creations. A highlight for me was watching the sunrise two of the mornings that we were there (I slept through it on the third day...2 out of 3 is pretty good for someone who hates getting up early!!)

And the water really is this blue...no photo-enhancing going on here.

Our House!

I took these pictures of the outside last October when we made our offer. Little did we know that it would be 8 months before we would close and that on the same day that we signed, we would get in the van and head to Texas/Oklahoma for a month! So after nine months of waiting, we came HOME. =)

Living Room

Before:
Before (this part of the room is still empty...hoping to find a free piano and some bookshelves....and maybe someday make a window seat...)
After: Not sure if this rug will stay here or go in Oliver's room....but for now, it's here....I'm looking on Craigslist for some small chairs to go in here.
Our old radio from Serena....=)
(I'm actually planning on replacing the material some time in the near future...)

Dining Room

Before:
It acted as the storage room for a while since we have no garage....
After: I'm still not sure how I feel about this split pea soup color....most of the time I love it, but sometimes, not so much.
Our new table

Kitchen

Before: with black appliances that we weren't planning on replacing until we were offered white ones for free....(we have a friend who remodels kitchens and had a client who was getting rid of his "old" ones...they are only about a year old....needless to say, we are very appreciative!)

Kitchen cont.

Pantry
Charging/information station....chalkboard for kiddos
bench from craiglist....

Family Room

Stephen's friends who watch over him while he works at his desk...I don't think I have a picture of the desk though...
My babies....(each at 6 months)
Uncle Kermit's jukebox

I don't have a before of this room either, but I think Nana and Pudge do...I'll have to get it from them. It was a mint green color with wood trim...it was the first room we painted. Eventually, we'll get a rug and some curtains and I might get rid of the red ottoman...it's seen better days. But it is definitely one of the more finished rooms of the house.

Hall Bathroom (aka, Ollie's bathroom...which he is actually using now...woohoo!)

Before: (it wasn't bad before, it just wasn't me.)
After: (I loved this shower curtain and rug when I bought them this summer....now I'm having second thoughts....now that is so me!)

Oliver's Room

I don't have a before picture because we didn't paint his room....

Mother's Day

Stephen has perfected the art of breakfast in bed, which is all I ever want on mother's day.

The menu:
Stuffed french toast (he gets better at this every time he makes it.)
bacon (from "good" pigs...thank you very much, Food, Inc.)
fresh fruit
mimosa!! =)

The girls and I made a lemon blueberry dessert to have after dinner. We picked blueberries at Brock Marion's blueberry farm on Saturday (that name probably only means something to the Dallas relatives). His wife gave us this recipe...and it was pretty good, but not nearly as good as just eating a handful at a time. =)

We ended the day at the Symphony Under the Stars concert and a pretty impressive fireworks display. (Kind of a pathetic picture, but you get the idea!)
