Today, my sweet Anna is turning five! We're going to celebrate with a very late "second breakfast" at a donut shop. It's going to be a pretty low-key day, as it feels like we've been celebrating for a month. She had a family party in Dallas over Thanksgiving, a slumber party with Nana and Pudge a couple of weeks ago and a ballerina bash last weekend with her friends. I think her ballerina party is one that she will never forget! We rented the ballet room at a rec. center in town and prettied it up with pink tulle and balloons. When the little ballerinas arrived, they decorated tiaras and danced with wands that Nana had made. After eating cupcakes, the girls were surprised by a special guest....a REAL-LIVE-BALLERINA!! I was hoping to get a junior high or highschool sudent to come dance and teach them some moves, but ended up with a professional ballerina (thanks to a friend of a friend of a guy who works with Nana). Mary Lynn is an 18-year-old apprentice with the Tulsa Ballet and has been dancing since she was three. She was so sweet with the girls. She gave Annabelle a point shoe signed by Tulsa Ballet's first soloist...it's so cool because it's all worn and torn...definitely been used! It was the perfect way to celebrate my little girly girl's life!
